Hello Beautiful!

Hello, Beautiful!
This is the first in a series of four articles on becoming even more beautiful than you already are. A link to the next one is at the bottom, for your convenience. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
I was attending a Women’s Conference one weekend. There, I was seated next to a woman I had never met before. Her outward appearance was nothing special. She wore no make-up and was a little overweight. Her clothes were not stylish. Her hair was held back in a simple bun. She wasn’t some beauty and was actually rather plain. She even had a small scar on her face. Yet, there was something about her. I was drawn to her immediately. I had just met her and yet I felt as though I had known her all my life. I felt very comfortable with this complete stranger; like she was my best friend. I felt as though I could confide in her. What was it about her that made me feel that way? I marveled over this as we listened to the speaker.
During lunch, we had a chance to talk. Her smile was disarming. She was kind and generous and treated me with respect. She made me feel accepted and loved just by the way she spoke to me. But then she spoke of her love of Jesus. Immediately, I knew what it was that drew me to her. When she talked about Jesus, her face glowed. He was the love of her life! She was so filled with the joy of Jesus that it overflowed onto all those around her.
She may not have been what people consider beautiful on the outside, but she was gorgeous on the inside! She shone with an inner beauty that I had rarely seen before!
I found myself wanting to be like her. And I realized that hers is the kind of rare beauty that anyone can achieve. It doesn’t matter what your outsides look like. You could have the face of a bulldog and still achieve this inner beauty. It starts with three basic things, which we will learn about in next week’s article.
Read all four of the “Hello, Beautiful!” series. Here, we will explore how each one of us can become beautiful… from the inside out!
